Light Intersections to Replace Roundabouts on Memorial and Discovery Drive

Two intersections along Discovery Drive, including the roundabout at the corner of Discovery Drive and Memorial Drive will be turned into traffic light intersections.

This project will improve road safety and traffic flow in the area which is bounded directly by two major local schools, North Lakes State College and The Lakes College and two child care centres.

Additional car lanes, bike lanes and pedestrian crossings will be built, making for a safer journey for everyone, whether by foot or vehicle.

This has been a very busy and congested area at peak times and this is considered to be a necessary project, required to cater for the past and projected growth of the area.

Affected roads will remain open during construction and the project is expected to continue until at least the middle of 2018.
